Australovenator skeletal by JonaGold2000 Australovenator skeletal by JonaGold2000
Update:
Collaboration Megaraptor.
pwnz3r-dragon.deviantart.com/a…

Skeletal reconstruction of the Australian megaraptoran Australovenator wintonensis. The rigorous skeletal in the upper right shows the used material.

Here are some things to keep in mind:
The vertebral collum was filled in with copies of preserved vertebrae, due to lack of preserved caudals the tail is rather speculative, but the tail does not vary all that much among theropods. The maxilla and premaxilla had to be stretched vertically in order to accomadate for ontogeny, they without this stretching the maxilla especially would not align with the Murusraptor material. Another thing worth of note would be that I was pretty conservative as far as soft tissue goes. If you want some evidence for the reliability: the reconstruction provided consistent results when scaling Bahariasaurus, a range of 11.9-12.3 meters (37.2-38.5 feet).

Doing this reconstruction has also changed my opinion on their phylogeny, before doing this skeletal I was of the opinion that they were either tyrannosauroids or basal coelurosaurs, however after comparing the known material I think they are either very basal coelurosaurs or allosauroids.

Total length: ~5.8 meters (~18 feet)
Hip height: ~1.8 meters (6 feet)

Special thanks to :iconfranoys: who helped me a lot with the creation of this, without him this would not nearly be as accurate and I really appreciate the help.

Edit:
6-2-2017: The scapula is actually not from Megaraptor but from Aerosteon, would update the image but my internet isn't allowing me to.
12-2-2017: There were a few mistakes when crosscaling the parts that come from Aerosteon, these are now fixed.

Thanks for the reminder, forgot to update the length after the update, it's now 11.9-12.3m long. Longer than Carcharodontosaurus.

The tail is much too short and the head is too large, from what I can see.

Theropod tails are generally a tad over 50% of their total length, this tail is about that size and I do mention it's speculative.

As for the head, it's scaled off of Australovenator's dentary. The reason it's so much bigger than what you're used to is that the other parts of the manible are much bigger than the dentary is, proportionally speaking. This was a result of Murusraptor's surangular and angular which needed to be this large in order for the dentary fit in any sense. Since Murusraptor is a pretty recent find most skeletals do not include it.

If you look at this one you can see that the angular and surangular take up a much smaller part of the mandible.

This is the basis for the skull and I think you can see how hard it would be to succesfully make the dentary proportionally larger in a way that makes anatomical sense.

De staart is eigenlijk het enige waar echt fouten in kunnen zitten, gewoon door een gebrek aan gevonden materiaal er van.
